carton. Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF)paste, is a high-energy
fortified food to be used by humanitarian agencies, governmental and
non-governmental organizations for the treatment of Severe Acute
Malnutrition (SAM) in any cultural setting in accordance with guidelines
for the outpatient care and management of Severe Acute Malnutrition. The
RUTF paste may be used in climatic extremes from the arctic to tropical
zones and may be the sole source of food, except for water and breast
milk, during the period of use.
