The sprayer shall include the following:
Tank, cylindrical shape,
equipped with a hand operated air pump
with two handed handle
and locking device separate from the tank lid,
pressure release safety device,
Pressure relief (safety) valve device,
air pressure gauge,
Shut-off valve to keep the pressure in the tank if the hose and the discharge set removed,
hose attached at the top of the tank to a dip tube,
trigger valve with locking off device,
lance,
control flow valve
and nozzle.

The sprayer shall be equipped with a system for hanging the lance when the sprayer is not in use.
The operation pressure of the sprayer shall be 4 bar (unless otherwise specified).
Construction materials of the sprayer shall be free from tin, lead and wood and materials shall be corrosion, pressure and UV resistant. They shall be in conformity with specifications of the WHO 2010 revised edition of Vector Control Equipment.
The maximum total weight of the sprayer shall not exceed 25 KG when the sprayer is filled with liquid according to the manufacturer maximum recommended capacity.
The tank opening filler shall be equipped with a filter and its dimensions shall be not less than 90 mm in minor axis.

SPRAYER TANK:
The tank shall be made from robust and chemical resistance material, with operation capacity of 7.4 Litres (approximately).
The sprayer shall be clearly and permanently marked with a horizontal permanent line to indicate the maximum liquid volume in litres. Other marking should indicate 1-litre graduation.

Pressure relief (safety) valve device:
A pressure relief valve shall be provided with the sprayer to prevent the pressurization in the tank beyond the limits prescribed by the manufacturer ± 10 % for safety. The valve shall re-seal after activation, allowing the normal operation of the sprayer without any leakage.

Markings:
The sprayer shall be clearly and permanently marked with a horizontal permanent line indicating the maximum liquid volume in litres. Other marking should indicate 1-litre graduation.

AIR PUMP:
The tank, filled with liquid to the maximum operational capacity, shall reach the operational pressure on completion of no more than 60 full strokes of the pump. At the maximum recommended operational pressure/capacity; pump’s check valves shall prevent any leakage of the liquid into the pump’s cylinder.

Handle and plunger rod:
The handle shall be T handle and shall be made from galvanized tubular steel or better and coated with high quality epoxy. The handle shall be designed in a way that the sprayer can be easily carried by this handle when it’s filled to the maximum recommended capacity. The plunger rod shall be made from galvanized steel or better. Pump’s cylinder shall be made from brass.

DISCHARGE SYSTEM:
Filters:
The sprayer shall be equipped with two filters; one at the trigger valves and one in the nozzle. The filter in the trigger valve must be smaller than the size of the nozzle aperture and not larger than 50 mesh size. Filters shall be manufactured with a proper size to prevent passage of particles that would cause nozzle blockage. Filters shall be made from pesticide/insecticide formulations resistant materials and shall be cleanable/replaceable.

Hose:
The hose shall be of high pressure hose type lined with chemical-oil resistance liner. The hose shall be suitable for pesticide and insecticide products, including chlorine. Hose’s length shall be 1.5 m or longer.

Trigger valve:
The trigger valve must have a positive lock-off position. Valve’s lever length shall be 100 mm or longer, measured from the pivot point. The valve's lever shall be easily moved by the operator hand. Trigger valve shall be made from brass. Sprayer shall be drip-less sprayer.

Lance:
The lance shall be made from brass and its length shall be 50 cm or longer.
Flow rate control device:
The sprayer shall be equipped with flow rate control device to maintain a relatively even discharge rate and a uniform nozzle pressure. Bidder/manufacturer shall mention the flow rate/type of this flow regulator valve. Tolerance limits of the specified flow rate shall be ± 5 % of the manufacturer specified flow. Test method will be according to paragraph 2.10.4 in WHO 2010 revised edition of vector control equipment.

Nozzle/Nozzle tip:
Bidder/Supplier shall declare the availability of following nozzle types: Nozzle types are solid or jet stream nozzle, flat spray nozzle deliver fan-shaped spray, hollow cone nozzle, and solid cone nozzle; nozzle type shall be specified by the country office. The type of the nozzle tip and the flow rate shall be stated by the bidder/manufacturer and they shall comply with the corresponding international standards. Tolerance limits of the discharge rate shall not exceed ± 5 % when tested in accordance to section 2.10.5.1 in WHO 2010 revised edition of vector control equipment. Nozzle and Nozzle tip shall be made from hardened stainless steel or ceramic.

Sprayer’s seal ring:
All seal ring shall be made from Viton or better.
